General Information about NorDent
What is NorDent and when was it founded?
NorDent is a dental clinic in Subotica, established at the end of January 2011. From the very beginning, our goal has been to provide dental services of the highest quality.
Why is it called NorDent?
The name originates from the fact that, in our early years, we relied on a large number of patients from Norway (dental tourism), bringing them to Subotica.
Where is the NorDent clinic currently located?
Since 2015, we have been located on the second floor of the Galleria Business Centre (address: Matije Korvina 17, Subotica), in a modern and easily accessible space.
Has NorDent received any awards?
Yes. In 2013, the clinic was awarded by the Tourist Organisation of the City of Subotica as a business that brought a significant number of foreign visitors (dental tourists from Norway) to the city.
Equipment and Technology
What modern equipment do you use in diagnostics and treatment?
NorDent is dedicated to using the latest technology. Our equipment includes:
- KaVo CBCT (Cone-Beam Computed Tomography) with a teleradiography unit for precise 3D diagnostics.
- Shining 3D Intraoral Scanner with AI support for digital impressions without traditional impression material.
- VDW Reciproc Silver and Gold Endomotors for precise and efficient root canal treatments.
- Intraoral X-ray for targeted imaging.
What is an intraoral scanner and how does it help me as a patient?
The intraoral scanner enables digital impressions of the teeth and jaw. It’s faster, more comfortable, and more accurate than traditional impressions using moulding material. We use it for prosthetic work, orthodontics, and aesthetic analyses.
🔩 Implantology
Which dental implant systems do you use at NorDent?
We are dedicated exclusively to implanting systems from reputable global manufacturers that guarantee quality and longevity. Depending on the indication and patient needs, we use:
- Nobel Biocare (Sweden/USA – one of the industry leaders)
- Bicon (USA – a short implant system for specific cases)
- Alpha Bio (Israel – reliable and widely used)
- LyraETK (Italy/France – high European quality)
What are dental implants and who are they for?
Dental implants are artificial roots (usually made of titanium) surgically inserted into the jawbone. They serve as a stable base for crowns, bridges, or dentures and are suitable for anyone who has lost one or more teeth.
How is implant placement planned at NorDent?
Planning is carried out using a CBCT scan, which provides a detailed 3D view of the bone structure. This ensures maximum precision, safety, and success of the procedure.
🔩 Prosthetics
What types of prosthetic solutions do you offer?
NorDent offers both fixed and removable prosthetics, including:
- Metal-ceramic and all-ceramic (zirconium) crowns and bridges
- Dentures (full and partial)
- Implant-based restorations (crowns and bridges fixed to implants)
What is the difference between a metal-ceramic and a monolithic zirconium crown (metal-free ceramic)?
The main difference lies in the core material and aesthetic effect:
- Metal-ceramic crown: has a metal core covered with ceramic.
- Monolithic zirconium crown: made entirely from a single block of zirconium (no metal).
What are the advantages and disadvantages of these two types of crowns?
Metal-ceramic crowns
- Advantages: Long-standing experience and more affordable price.
- Disadvantages: The metal core can cause a dark shadow near the gum line (especially if the gums recede). While aesthetically good, it’s harder to achieve the transparency and natural look of metal-free crowns. Ceramic can also chip off the metal core.
Monolithic zirconium crowns
- Advantages: Biocompatibility (no allergic reactions). No dark line on the gums since there is no metal.
- Disadvantages: More expensive than metal-ceramic crowns, as is standard worldwide.
✨ Aesthetic Dentistry
What aesthetic dentistry services do you offer?
We offer a wide range of services, including professional teeth whitening, creation of highly aesthetic crowns and veneers, and composite (white) fillings.
Which system do you use for professional teeth whitening?
At NorDent, we use the Beyond Polus system, considered one of the most advanced and safest professional whitening systems. It combines halogen and LED lights for quick and effective results, and the process is virtually painless.
Is whitening with the Beyond Polus system safe?
Absolutely. Beyond Polus uses cold, filtered light, reducing the risk of overheating and tooth sensitivity during and after treatment. It’s one of the safest and most comfortable methods for achieving a brighter smile.
What are dental veneers?
Veneers are thin shells (usually ceramic or composite) that are permanently bonded to the front surface of the teeth. They are used to correct slight irregularities, discolouration, shape, and to close gaps (diastemas).
🩹 Conservative Dentistry
What does conservative dentistry include?
This field deals with the treatment and prevention of tooth decay and pulp diseases. It includes tooth restoration (fillings)and endodontic treatment (root canal therapy).
Do you use any advanced methods for root canal treatment?
Yes, we use VDW Reciproc endomotors, which allow for mechanical and efficient root canal processing, significantly improving treatment success and reducing procedure time for patients.
